Today we went to Berlin. It has been a long day and really
full. The train trip was fun; I had never been on a train before. In Berlin we
had a tour of important points of the city, then we ate and shopped at the
Alexa mall, and then had a very in depth tour of the Reichstag. The tours were
interesting. I wish I had understood more, it was another moment of me wishing
I had more than two semesters of German. I did understand some things contextually
and there were a few very joyful times when I understood full sentences.
The city is really fascinating, the history especially, and
the architecture, and I look forward to having some free time tomorrow to
people watch and maybe interact with more. In general though the people here
are able to speak English and they switch to that as soon as they realize you
speak English. Wittenberg is definitely a better city for forcing the use of
German.

| Bears are all over Berlin, so I thought this was an important picture to add. |
